RELEVANT EXPERIENCE AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

Facilitator for Waste Identification and Lean Thinking

  • Worked with a broad array of homebuilders and their trades, implementing Lean Building practices to eliminate unnecessary cost and other non value added waste in product and processes. Builders are saving many thousands of dollars of house cost on each home they build.

“Touch point” Strategist.

  • Consulted on emerging rich media and internet technology that uses relevancy and rapport to transform contacts into powerful stakeholder relationships.
  • Created critical relationship capital to underpin business revenue streams.

Networking Expert, “Word of Mouth” Business Acquisition Consulting

  • Established and trained three “strong” networking organizations using the Business Network International model of one member per profession. These teams are now passing business referrals totaling many thousands of dollars.
  • Taught Notable Networking for business people to improve their effectiveness in “Word of Mouth” business acquisition.

Team Building

  • Conducted over 100 “Partnering” workshops for Arizona DOT, Phoenix Valley Metro Light Rail project; City of Tucson Transit Study and the University of Arizona Facilities department resulting in proactive avoidance of legal claims, shorter build times and tighter control of scope and budget.
  • Established 10 Home Builder Supplier/Trade alliances that improved mutual profitability as well as money saving product and process improvements.

Training and Development, Quality Consulting

  • Trained 2000 plus production home building employees in the 3 module  Fundamentals of Quality: “Understanding Quality – The Why”; “Customer Driven Quality”: “Building Quality Relationships”.
  • Impacted record setting performance for a fortune 200 home builder in the JD Power Quality Surveys. Ranked first in 24 out of 28 markets surveyed by JD Power.

Value Engineering

  • Consulted with Ford, in the US and Europe, on their Value Engineering and Value Analysis program for in-house and supplier experts. Re-located to England for 18 months to train and certify six VE/VA facilitators.
  • Led the identification of billions of dollars worth of product cost savings while achieving customer driven functional product and process enhancements.

Creative Writing and Instructional Design

  • Co-authored and led the three-module Construction Management Training series, which is now used by many leading national production home builders.
  • Resulted in improved scheduling of homes and collaborative builder supplier trade relationships. This series uses many of the principles described by Dr. Steven Covey in his landmark book, 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.
